Development in Higher Education

The Development in Higher Education Initiative seeks to generate knowledge and contribute to the public discussion on policies that are relevant for students in the transition between secondary and postsecondary education. The associates who are part of this initiative study how institutional features of the postsecondary education system---including admissions, funding, and quality assurance---as well as different characteristics of higher education institutions and programs affect the development of individuals and shape important economic objects as inequality and social mobility.

  • Frictions in the transition between secondary and postsecondary education.

  • Peer influence in the choice of postsecondary education specialization.

  • Returns to postsecondary education.

  • Higher education and social mobility.
